Waters Corp Sep-Pak Alumina A Plus Long Cartridge, 1710 mg Sorbent per Cartridge, 50 - 300 µm, 50/pk
Sep-Pak Alumina A Plus Long cartridges contain a highly active grade of alumina with an acidic surface chemistry. The aluminum oxide surface provides an extremely polar surface for analyte retention and has properties of a Lewis acid. This normal phase sorbent is similar in use to silica; however, it is slightly more stable than unfunctionalized silica under high pH conditions. This acidic alumina is also low-capacity ion exchanger in aqueous media. Unlike polymer-based ion exhangers, this sorbent is unaffected by high-energy radioactivity and can be used for radioactive compound isolation. These versatile cartridges can attach easily to pumps and syringes for reliable, positive-pressure flow to speed up the sample processing time. They can also be fitted with removable reservoirs and used on vacuum-assisted flow devices and certain automated systems.

The 35 cc Oasis HLB cartridges contain the Oasis HLB sorbent, which is a universal polymeric reversed-phase sorbent that was developed for the extraction of a wide range of acidic, basic, and neutral compounds from various matrices using a simple, generic protocol. Since the Oasis HLB sorbent is water wettable, it maintains its capability for higher retention and excellent recoveries even if the sorbent runs dry, which means there is no need to take extraordinary steps to keep the sorbent beds from drying out during the critical steps prior to sample loading. The 60 µm particle size is recommended when working with viscous samples. These syringe-barrel-type cartridges are designed for use with vacuum manifolds and automated SPE instruments.
